WHAT ARE ACCESS FLOORS
Access floors are a raised floor traditionally designed to create a void for the distribution of mechanical and electrical services. They are widely used in modern office buildings, data centre’s, casinos and control rooms where there is a requirement to route mechanical services, chiller pipes, and cables for electrical and data supply.
Floors generally consist of a height adjustable steel understructure with removable floor panels. The panels are a steel panel with a cementitious or particle board internal core and are finished with a variety of finishes to suit the application, such as carpet tiles for offices, anti static high-pressure laminate for data centre’s and control rooms, or marble, stone, timber type finishes for lobby areas.
